Methi Rice without Onion and Garlic Recipe

Ingredients

  • Rice – 1 cup (cook separately)
  • 1-1/2 cups methi leaves tightly packed
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 2 cardomams
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1/2 cup peas(optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste




Method

Heat oil. Saute cumin, cinnamon, bay leaf, cardomam and green chillies. Add methi leaves, turmeric and saute. Add garam masala. Add blanched peas. Switch off gas. Add rice, lime juice, salt to taste. Mix well. Methi rice is ready.
